About Cheer

Springtown Lions Club Pee Wee Cheer is a strong and thriving program. Each year we continue to grow and usually have anywhere from 150-200+ girls each season. Our goal is to provide these girls with a fun experience, to help boost self-esteem and confidence, to instill team work, help build friendships and to prepare them for Middle and High School Cheer. Our cheer program along with all Lions Club programs is 100% nonprofit- that means the money stays in the program and the community which we serve. Cheer is ran solely by volunteers, all board members and coaches volunteer their time to keep the program running. We are always looking for more volunteers, there are many ways to be involved, coach, assistant coach, team mom, or just help out with team activities, every helping hand is greatly appreciated.

What do the girls actually do in cheer?
Girls cheer at every single game both home and away, rain or shine, if our football team is playing then we are cheering. Girls cheer the entire game on the sidelines; they do cheers, chants, sideline dances, jumps and stunts, as well as a big half time performance.

To establish a strong foundation for our Cheerleaders we partner with Springtown High School and Middle School Cheer Teams to provide girls with essential cheer training. We have a very good reputation within our league for having wonderful cheerleaders, and have been told by opposing teams how great our girls look. We also expect our girls to have leadership behavior at all times. We hold our girls to high standards and want them to be proud of their team. Girls also perform for parents during pep-rallies. They participate in the Wild West parade (as long as it doesn’t conflict with a game) they also participate in the homecoming parade.

All Cheerleaders practice at least once a week, practice times and days are set by your team coach. The Cheer season will start at the end of July with Cheer Camp and run through November, it is a long and exciting season; we usually have several teams in play-off’s and super bowl!

We look forward to having your daughter or son on one of our Cheer Teams, and appreciate your interest in cheer and continued support of Springtown Lions Club.
